A silver lining that is...

Materials and Method:
Paper, Prismacolor markers, Staedtler pigment liners, metallic gel pens.

Roughly outlined in pencil, filled in using the markers, and outlined with the pigment liners.

Regarding the face: I should mention that I have never ever cross hatched using colour markers, this is a technique I have only used with black ink and on occasion, coloured pencils. So, ummmm...varying success on this one.

A lot of silver on the clouds and hair flowers, which the scanner doesn't pick out very well sadly (or at all in fact, they just look grey...boo!), and also doesn't really pick up the depth of colour, never mind. Used no reference pics at all, just my own little noggin.

Lastly, on a personal note. When I showed this to my hubby he responded with his usual "very nice bunny". When I then showed it to my two and a half year old daughter, she beamed and said "Mamma, that's fantastic...it's got flowers, and clouds, a rainbow and a mermaid". What more could I have asked for!

I should mention this, and don't know why I didn't before, that when working on this, I thought a lot about =thegirlinthebigbox In a way she inspired this piece. She is a very, very, very talented and gifted young artist, also very brave....

This is great. I love how your use of line throughout the piece. Especially the crosshatching on the face and neck. The purple hues are very nice.
